PENDLETON: Helping businesses during the crisis

The Pendleton Chamber of Commerce is working hard to help its members cope with financial setbacks during the COVID-19 pandemic. Executive Director Cheri Rosenberg is not just focusing on local members. She’s taking a regional look since she’s been appointed to the Governor’s Economic Impact Committee for Eastern Oregon.

“We reached out to a little over 100 within the last two days,” she said. “We’re asking, first of all, how are you doing? What’s your biggest financial concern right now?”

The chamber has also created the Facebook group Pendleton Take-Out Time to help restaurants get their menus and policies out to the public. Rosenberg said the chamber decided to make the page public so it can be used by all, whether they are chamber members or not.

Another change is the chamber’s website.

“Our website now is just COVID-19,” she said. “As soon as you click on it there’s a huge picture that says ‘COVID-19 and business resources.’ You click on there, and we’re trying to keep that updated. That’s kind of the world we live in right now.”
