The Blue Mountain Conference Center Foundation Board of Directors is issuing a Request for Proposals for Contract for Management Services of the Blue Mountain Conference Center, located at 404 12th Street in La Grande, Oregon. For many years the Union County Chamber of Commerce has held this contract for management services; however, the Chamber’s Board of Directors decided to discontinue this contract to pursue other projects more in-line with the Chamber’s mission.
“The Chamber and the Foundation have a close working relationship and are focused on the successful transition to a new managing entity,” said Suzannah Moore Hemann, Executive Director of the Union County Chamber of Commerce. “The Chamber Board is very excited to continue partnering with the new entity and working together towards increasing tourism and facility utilization of this important community asset.”
The Blue Mountain Conference Center is supported, in part, by the City of La Grande and Union County Transient Room Tax (TRT). This convention center is managed by a subcontractor and overseen by the Blue Mountain Conference Center Foundation. The purpose of the Blue Mountain Conference Center is to provide a community event space as well as to assist in promoting events or attractions to increase economic vitality and the impact of tourism in Union County. More information is available at the Chamber office (541-963-8588, Info@VisitUnionCounty.org) and on the Chamber’s website (http://www.VisitUnionCounty.org).
