BAKER CITY: Councilors to make decision on new councilor

The Baker City Council last week interviewed four individuals for the vacant City Council position. The position has come available after the resignation of Councilor Ken Gross, who moved from the City. According to Baker City Manager Fred Warner, “It was nice to listen to these individuals talk about their love of Baker City and their energy to give back to the community.”
This council position that is open is for one year. There will be six open seats for the November election according to Warner. Anyone not appointed will have an opportunity to run for one of the positions in the fall. The Council is expected to make a decision at the January 14th meeting.
