COVE: Local student selected as U.S. Senate Youth Delegate Winner

According to information from the Cove School District, Haiden was selected to represent Oregon in the United States Senate Youth Program. Haiden was nominated for the position, completed a challenging application process and was selected for an interview in Salem. After being notified of winning the delegate position Haiden said “This is such an amazing opportunity! Through this hard work I have the opportunity to meet and learn from some of the most influential people in the country and bring that back to my community and school.”
Haiden is one of two Oregon delegates and will attend a one-week all-expenses-paid trip to Washington DC in March. Haiden will also receive a $10,000 college scholarship! The United States Senate Youth Program is an annual scholarship competition for students interested in a public service career. The program is funded by the William Randolph Hearst Foundation and endorsed by the U.S. Senate.
