BAKER CITY: Students ready to shop with a hero

BAKER CITY: Students ready to shop with a hero

The Baker City Police Department is hosting their second ever Shop with a Hero event on December 6, 2019!

This event is put on by the Baker City Police Department for children that are selected from Brooklyn Elementary School and South Baker Primary School.

Children get to shop with a Hero buying Christmas gifts for their immediate family members! Twenty children were selected for this year’s event and each child will be paired with a Hero. Our Hero’s this year are Baker City Police Department Officers, Baker County Sheriff’s Deputies, Oregon State Police Troopers and Baker City fire Department Fire Fighters!

The Baker City Police Department has partnered with Bi-Mart for local shopping, Blue Mountain Baptist Church who will be providing lunch for the children, Ace Hardware who provided gift wrap supplies for all gifts, Community Connections for transportation, and the Nazarene Church for the venue.

We are appreciative of the Baker County Sheriff’s Office and Sheriff’s Office, Baker City Police Association, Baker Fire Department Association and several individual financial contributions who have helped make this event possible!

If you would like to donate to the cause please feel free to contact the Baker City Police Department, 1768 Auburn Avenue, Baker City, Oregon or contact us at 541-523-3644 and ask for Detective Shannon Regan, the event coordinator.
