BAKER CITY: Mother sentenced in death of two-year-old

Diana Goodman, the mother of 2-year-old Liam Mankins of Baker City who died of a self-inflicted gunshot would this past November, has been placed on three years’ formal probation in lieu of an 18-month prison term. Goodman was sentenced to six months in jail and placed on three years’ probation after she pleaded guilty to Possession of Methamphetamine and Recklessly Endangering Another Person in a plea agreement with the District Attorney’s Office.
Peter Lee Mankins, Liam’s father, was sentenced in August was sentenced to 34 months in prison. Mankins pleaded guilty to Criminally Negligent Homicide a Class B Felony, Unlawful Possession of Methamphetamine a Class A Misdemeanor, and Recklessly Endangering Another Person also a Class A Misdemeanor.
