Tentative activities for the Ladd Canyon construction project for next week (September 9 – September 14). We will be working 6 or 7 days a week through October.
• MP 271 – MP 273: The second stage of 3 stages for the culverts at MP 270.5 and MP 272.2 continues. The bottom sections of the new culverts will be set Wednesday and Thursday with a crane. These work areas are between the two directions of freeway traffic with trucks leaving and entering the freeway, so please be cautious as you drive through. Excavation work along the WB side of the freeway will continue. Construction of the new Brush Creek stream along the WB side of the freeway will continue. Drilling for rock blasting along the WB side of the freeway near the Ladd Creek Interchange will continue. A blast will take place sometime late in the week. A “rolling slowdown” will take place on both directions of I-84 to create a 20-minute gap in traffic for the blast to be safely conducted and the freeway cleared of any debris. The freeway will not be closed but may be backed up for a short time period.
• Ladd Creek Rd Interchange: No work or flagging will be occurring at the interchange next week, it should be open all day. The big boxes to complete the tunnel underpass will be placed the week of September 16th, the daytime WB on-ramp closure will resume at that time.
• MP 260 – MP 270: No work in this area next week.
