Vandals appear to be using fireworks or explosives to blow up portable toilets. Over the past several weeks the Walla Walla County Sheriff’s Office has responded to three suspicious malicious mischief cases involving damaged portable toilets at construction sites located south of Walla Walla and in College Place.
The vandalism usually takes place at night and the damage has been so extensive that the portable toilets are unusable. The Walla Walla County Sheriff’s Office said replacing a portable toilet exceeds $750, making damaging a portable toilet a Class C felony.
“At this time, it is an open case and we continue to investigate all leads and we are hoping the public will come forward with information,” Walla Walla County Undersheriff Joe Klundt said.
