WELFARE CHECK LEADS TO FELONY BURGLARY ARREST

On April 10th, 2019 an Idaho Power employee contacted Deputy Josh Bryant and requested a welfare check on a suspicious vehicle parked on the side of Brownlee Oxbow Highway near milepost 7. Deputy Bryant made contact with the woman, identified as Pearl Naomi Adair (DOB 6/29/80) of Boise, Idaho. Dispatch advised that Adair had multiple warrants, including a felony warrant for Burglary out of Idaho. Adair was arrested, her vehicle towed and she was transported and lodged in the Baker County Jail.
Prior to arriving at the jail, it was discovered that Adair had several documents within her possession, including a boat registration belonging to Steve Ritch of Baker City. Deputy Bryant contacted Ritch, who told him that he has a cabin in the Oxbow area. After transporting Adair to the Baker County Jail, Deputy Bryant returned to Ritch’s cabin and found signs of forced entry.
On April 11th, Deputy Bryant applied for and was granted, a search warrant for the 2009 Nissan Altima belonging to Adair. Multiple stolen items were located, including a pistol belonging to Ritch. Adair was additionally charged with Burglary I, Theft I, Theft II, Criminal Trespass I, Criminal Mischief III, Unauthorized Entry of a Motor Vehicle, and Felon in Possession.
Adair has prior felony charges pending in Baker County stemming from an incident in February 2019 where she unlawfully entered a residence in the Durkee area.
