The John Day City Council met last night. Among the topics of discussion was an outline of this year’s financing milestones for the City. City Manager Nick Green and crew plan on hitting the ground running and applying for around $10M in grant funding this year, most of which will go to the new reclaimed water facility as well as into broadband projects. Green said he and his team are up to the task:
City Mgr. Green: “So, trying to put together the most competitive funding package we can through a variety of grants, loans, and appropriations to keep our raters in check.”
Mayor Lundbom: “Ten million dollars in grant funding for 2019…”
City Mgr. Green: “Yup. That’s a big number.”
