BAKER COUNTY: A locked gate goes to court

Wednesday morning the Baker County Board of Commissioners met and voted on a legal issue forcing a landowner to remove a locked gate across a county road near Connor Creek at Brownlee Reservoir near the Lookout Mountain area in Baker County. The problem extends whether or not the county can prove, under a statute, that the road is a public road and cannot be blocked even where it crosses private property. Unable to reach an agreement with the owner of the locked gate, the Commissioners voted to file a complaint through the court.
