EASTERN OREGON: Late start to winter

According to the USDA Resource Conservation Service, midwinter storms brought significant snowfall and most of Eastern Oregon’s mountains have near-normal snowpack. In a release issued it is reported that in the Owyhee Basin of Eastern Oregon, the snowfall so far is 109% of normal. Also noting that the combined water reservoir storage in most basins is between 60% and 80% of average as of the end of December.
