OREGON: FEMA will conduct a nationwide test

On September 20, 2018, FEMA will be conducting a nationwide test of the public alerts and warning systems. This, Wireless Emergency Alert (WEA) test will be done so that in the event of an emergency or disaster public safety officials have methods and systems to deliver urgent alerts and warnings to the public. This alert will be delivered to a cell phone that is turned on and within range of an active cell tower. In addition, an Emergency Alert System (EAS) test will be shared via media outlets across the United States.
