Oregon State Police in Baker County made two separate arrests over this past weekend, both of which involved drunk drivers. The first arrest took place on Hwy7 near milepost 27 outside of Baker City after officers received calls of a driving complaint. The vehicle, driven by 32-year-old Daniel Meeuwsen of Eugene was located and the driver was given a Standard Field Sobriety Test. A breath sample revealed a blood-alcohol level of .22. The man was transported and lodged in the Baker County Jail on charges of DUII-Alcohol.
The second incident took place the following day along I-84 near milepost 295, just west of Baker City. Officers stopped the vehicle for multiple traffic violations. The driver, 35-year old Christopher Sweitz of Forest Grove had a blood alcohol level of .35 and was unable to complete the sobriety test due to his high level of intoxication. He was arrested on charges of DUII-Alcohol.
